People laughing at tussle over portfolios: Horatti

Member of Legislative Council Basavaraj Horatti has said that the people of the state were laughing at the tussle over sharing of portfolio between the Congress and JD(S) in the newly formed coalition government.

"The coalition government has come to power in the state at a very critical moment. It is not right to disobey the words of the party high command and the chief minister. I am prepared to back out from the race for a minister's post in the interest of the party and the state. The MLAs of both the alliance partners should be prepared to make sacrifice," Horatti, a JD(S) leader, said. He was addressing a press meet in Chitradurga on Monday.

The people of the state will not extend any support if the government falls owing to the differences over allotment of portfolios. Retaining voters' confidence is a challenge for the government. Besides, the Opposition too has been waiting for an opportunity for toppling the government, Horatti added.
