Bhatkal woman dies of suspected rat fever

A 35-year-old woman died of suspected rat fever at Huvinahitlu of the taluk on Saturday. 

The deceased is Mukambu Suresh Naik. She died of multi-organ failure at the Kundapur hospital.

Taluk health officer Murthy Raj Bhat said they would be able to ascertain the cause of death after they receive the post mortem report.

Bhat has appealed to the residents to maintain cleanliness in their surroundings so as to prevent the spread of communicable diseases.
