FTA with European Union to be game changer, says Federation of Indian Export Organisations

New Delhi: Free trade agreement with the European Union will be a game changer for labour intensive sectors of India, Ajay Sahai, Director General and CEO, FIEO (Federation of Indian Export Organisations) has said here.

He was speaking at a launching of the 'imm india', a premier B2B exhibition supported by several prominent Indian industry associations here. The event is launched by Koelnmesse Pvt Ltd.

"The government has taken a strategic shift in its trade policy, focusing on FTAs with large, complementary economies, such as the UAE, Australia, EFTA, and the UK, to ensure balanced and safeguard domestic interests," he said.

"We are also working towards an early harvest agreement with the EU, which will be a game-changer for our labour-intensive sectors," he said.

Addressing the event, Milind Dixit, Managing Director, Koelnmesse Pvt Ltd, said that India's interior design market is projected to double to $ 71 billion by 2033 due to rising demand for design-led living,
