Another 'jugaad' has impressed Mahindra Group Chairman Anand Mahindra. But this time, instead of just tweeting about it, he has taken a step further and asked the innovator to come work with him.

Chennai-based architect Arun Prabhu N G's auto rickshaw house SOLO.01 has been doing the rounds on social media since November last year.

The portable house at the back of an auto-rickshaw has all the necessary spaces like kitchen, bedroom, bathroom, toilet, terrace area as well as an additional space for a vendor to do sales.

Amazed by the innovation, Mahindra tweeted that although Prabhu came up with the idea to "demonstrate the power of small spaces", he succeeded in quenching the thirst for post-Covid wanderlust and "desire to always be mobile".

"I’d like to ask if he’ll design an even more ambitious space atop a Bolero pickup. Can someone connect us?" he added further in his retweet which has over 4,000 likes and several comments.

The 36-square-foot mobile house is ideal for a solo individual like an artist, traveller, homeless people or even a small-scale vendor.

Founder and architect of the Billboards Collective, Arun Prabhu N G, believes that small-scale architecture is the most relevant in India and is often underutilized in terms of space. The vision of his team is to shine a light on how to constantly improve people's way of life without space or budget as parameters.
