Online cab aggregator Ola is planning to hire nearly a third of its employees from college campuses this year, according to a report by The Economic Times.

Ola plans to hire about 150 students across campuses. It has already begun engagements with colleges to set up workshops, leadership talks and internship programmes.

“Ola is now gearing up to be an inclusive organisation... and this is also one of the biggest HR challenges that we have today, where we have experienced folks and young people working together to build a high-performance organisation,” Rohit Munjal, chief human resource officer at Ola, told the newspaper.

According to the report, the 2019 batch is likely to receive offers from startups such as Ola, Amazon, Flipkart, Meesho, and Bounce as these companies are hunting for young crowd who can adapt to a fast-paced and agile environment.

Ola has launched a one-year induction programme to train fresh graduates, who would join this year. “Young hires bring us disruptive, no baggage thoughts on problem-solving… one of our most popular products, Ola Auto, for example, was suggested and launched by an intern,” Munjal said.

The average age of employees at Ola is 24-27 years, he added.
