Campco to train youth in arecanut tree climbing again

The Central Arecanut and Cocoa Marketing and Processing Co-operative Limited (CAMPCO), after successfully completing skill training in climbing arecanut trees for youth in December last, will once again impart training in climbing arecanut tree to 30 persons.

Already, 30 youth have been trained. Those, who have already applied need not apply again for “Adike Kaushalya Pade” training, according to a press release.

The youth in the age group of 18 to 30 from Dakshina Kannada and Kasargod districts can apply for the five-day residential training.

Training will be given to youth to climb the arecanut tree manually. The training will be imparted by those who are experienced in the field and all the safety gears will be provided to youth.

The Campco will provide an insurace of Rs 5 lakh for one year, stipend, identity card and a certificate to each trainee after the completion of the training.

Apart from imparting the training in climbing arecanut trees, the trainees will also be trained in other arecanut related issues.

The application forms are available at the Campco branches.

Interested can avail the applications and submit the duly filled application, along with a copy of the Aadhaar, on or before January 18.

The training will be imparted at CPCRI, Vittal from February 5 to 9.

Those who were given training in December have started climbing arecanut trees and are earning for their livelihood, the press release stated.
