Close to 340 students received their degrees at the sixth convocation of Azim Premji University on Saturday. Master's degrees were awarded for specialisation in Education, Development, Public Policy and Governance, Law and Development while bachelor's degrees were awarded for specialisation in Science and Humanities.
The first batch of undergraduate students with BSc/BA degrees in Physics, Biology, Economics and Humanities graduated this year. The sixth batch of Master's students graduated with degrees in Education, Development, Public Policy and Governance and Law.
Established in 2010 by the Azim Premji Foundation, the university was founded with an explicit social purpose: to develop competent and committed professionals for the social sector, who can significantly contribute to a just, equitable, humane and sustainable society.
