Private firm provides digi-class for govt schools

Next Education, a private firm is providing the digital learning facility for the government schools across India, where the government school students are getting the e-learning solutions ‘Teach Next’ and ‘NextBooks’ for free.

As a pilot project, the firm has experimented this in 27 schools across the country including three schools in Bengaluru city with English and the local languages.

The concept of e-learning is still a dream to many government schools in the country, where most of the private institutions have created a revolution in the field.

“We are using the smart classroom from past six months. We are eagerly waiting for the examination, where we are expecting the good academic performance from our student. This concept was much needed to the government schools. Sometimes with poor funding its not even possible for us to maintain the school, however, the e-learning or the smart class rooms have made the students develop interest in the studies. Now the days with blackboard is slowly eradicating, the concept of e-learning is the next big thing. As most of the students are opened to mobile phones and internet usage it has become easy for them to even operate,” Gowramma, head mistress of the government school in Kadugodi told DH.

Next Education has invested on the computer system and a projector for each classes.

Beas Dev Ralhan, CEO and Co-founder Next Education said, As the content of TeachNext and NextBooks are mapped to each other, it helps in making learning more integrated, as students can visualise the content they are reading. TeachNext is designed as an interactive solution and NextBooks are enriched with attractive images and reader-friendly content. Therefore, the two clubbed together, promotes more student engagement. The state board content of the solution and the voice over in regional languages helps students of government schools to learn more effectively.”

“The graphical representation of geography, history, science and other subjects are more interesting. With the text books we use to get the rough image of the things, but when its played in the video format we will get the exact aspect of it. This is also stress bursting for us, as we just have to glance through the text book once the chapter is completed,” says Arjun, studying in eight standard in the same school.

Next Education has now partnered with Capgemini to offer the advantages of a digital classroom to more and more resource-starved schools as well as ones in the remotest parts of India.
