Iconic Kannada writer U R Ananthamurthy, who is known for his anti-BJP stand, took some by surprise when he came to cast his vote at a polling station in the posh Sadashivanagar area.
For, the Jnanpith awardee, who has supported Congress candidates, was clad in a bright saffron kurta. The ailing writer was accompanied by his wife Esther. Incidentally , there were some BJP workers outside the polling station dressed in saffron ‘T’ shirts.Dogs not allowed
Some people who rushed to polling booths early in the morning before or soon after their morning walk had brought their pet dogs to the booth. They found themselves fixed when the cops on duty strictly told them, “Dogs are not allowed.”
At Sunkadakatte, police and civil defence persons manning the booth took care of the canines, while their owners went inside to exercise their franchise. At Vijayanagar, a dog owner found a help in another voter, who was coming out after casting his vote.
