Ramshankar (74), was living alone and suffering from some illness, police said, adding that he used to spend his time by imparting tuitions to the students of the locality.
When he did not went to teach students yesterday, they went to his home only to find his body hanging from the ceiling.
A suicide note was found from the spot in which Ramshankar said that he took the extreme step as he was depressed with his illness and loneliness, police said.
He is survived by two sons and three daughters, they said, adding the body has been sent for the postmortem and his family has been informed about the incident.
