JOIN USUmar Farooq was arrested in Ajmer, Rajasthan and Ibrahim Moulavi was arrested in Kasargod, Kerala. They were brought to the City on October 15 and were in police custody till Friday. Their name figured in the first charge sheet filed by the police in June 2009.
According to the police, Farooq had come to the City before the blast and was present the day when the blast happened.
He actively participated in the blast. Moulavi had visited the City before the blast and he did not participate in the blast directly.
He and other suspects had held several rounds of meetings before the blast. Moulavi is accused of conspiracy, the police said.
With their arrest, the Bangalore police have managed to arrest 19 out of 28 suspects involved in the low intensity serial blast which claimed life of a woman and left several others injured on July 25, 2008.
