After both the teams failed to produce a goal in the first half, replete with innumerable opportunities, Rafique broke the deadlock when he shot Joshimar Da Silva Martins’ cross from the right into the JCT net in the 76th minute.
Arnab Mondal, who came as Justine Stephen’s replacement after the Nigerian was injured, in the first session, fed Joshimar with a long ball from the deep and the Brazilian poacher, after dribbling past a few JCT defenders, laid it for Rafique to complete the job.
The Subrata Bhattacharjee-led outfit was looking for that goal from the word go and once they found that, there was no stopping them.
