The projects sanctioned cover rural roads, bridges and minor irrigation projects, according to an official press release.
These projects have been sanctioned under the Rural Infrastructure Development Fund (RIDF XVI) and the cumulative sanction to the state government during the year 2010-11 stands at Rs 514.26 crore.
Implementation of 37 rural road projects with a total length of 119.85 km and 13 rural bridge projects with a length of 269.10 metres is expected to benefit 16 districts connecting 220 villages with 76 marketing centres. Implementation of 161 minor irrigation projects is expected to increase the irrigation potential in 16 districts to 9368.22 hectares.
