Claiming that the just-concluded Assembly elections will put the RJD-LJP alliance in power with a two-thirds majority, Prasad alleged that a conspiracy had been hatched by the media through their surveys to influence personnel engaged in counting of votes.

Those involved in counting should not be influenced by the pressure tactics and do their job freely and fairly, he told a press conference here.

“I have been in politics since 1977 and understand the pulse of the people better than anybody. According to my assessment, the RJD-LJP alliance will come to power as the electorate has rejected the NDA outright,” the former chief minister said.

He also accused the print media of “lopsided” coverage of the elections and said the reports were not news, but views. LJP leaders also echoed Prasad’s observations.
