<p>The protest was part of 'Pet-a-thon', organised by Rotary Bangalore IT Corridor here on </p>.<p>Sunday. <br /><br />Wearing black ribbons to condemn the incident, the animal lovers are planning to hold a massive protest next Sunday at Jakkasandra to create awareness about animal rights.<br />At the event, Dog experts gave an insight about how to maintain and groom their dogs at home. <br /><br />The right breed<br /><br />Dr Pawan Kumar, Veterinary doctor said that it is very important to choose the right kind of pet before bringing a pup into a family. <br /><br />"Everyone in the house must co-operate when it comes to having a pet, also it is necessary to choose the right breed depending on the space you can spare for your dog," he said. <br /><br />A pet must be examined thoroughly before bringing it home so that it does not develop into a serious problem later on, he added.<br /><br />He said that if every house adopts a stray dog just by giving food, there will be no menace of stray dogs at all. <br /><br />If the owner is planning to own a female pet, it is important to breed the dog or to neuter them or they might develop ovarian problems. <br /><br />Dogs also develop epilepsy and Alzheimer's disease when they fail to recognise their master, he added.<br /></p>
