Police say they foiled a Silent Sunil plot

Mithun Kumar (21) from Thanisandra, Dilip Kumar (23) from Palace Guttalli, Santosh (20) from Parvathipura, Srinivas (22) from Manjunathnagar and M Chikkegowda (20) from Sunkadakatte are the arrested.

Sunil, who is lodged in the Central Prison at Parappana Agrahara, had allegedly plotted the murder of Selvam who belonged to a rival gang, and had directed his associates in the jail to execute the plan. The police seized lethal weapons, a car and two cellphones, police said.

The suspects were carrying lethal weapons and were waiting for Selvam to turn up at Malleswaram. The police rushed to the spot after a tip-off and arrested them.

Nataraj alias Lambu Nati (24), Bharath Raj and Ravi, both in their mid-twenties, Sunil’s associate from Gayatri Nagar were hacked to death on December 4 when they barged into the New Shanthi Sagar Hotel in Malleswaram to kill their rivals who were attending a wedding reception, stated the police.
