The deceased, identified as Sumanta (28), was an employee of Metkefe Software in Bangalore, police said.
The mishap occurred on Saturday, when Sumanta who had come along with his friends to Shimsha falls, a tourist spot, slipped and fell into the canal, very near to the falls.
