Two people who were placed under observation in a Kochi hospital for suspected symptoms of swine flu have tested negative. The State health department’s epidemic cell said their throat swabs and blood samples sent to the National Institute of Communicable Diseases in New Delhi have tested negative for the dreaded swine influenza A (H1N1) virus.

One of the samples was that of a 25-year-old woman who had flown in from Vienna while the other was that of an 11-year-old boy who arrived from London on May 4.
