<p>Vidyavardhaka College of Engineering (VVCE),Gokulam is observing ‘Earth Day’ on the day, organised by the Department of Environmental Engineering. Events like- Walkathon, Photo Hunt, Plant Exhibition and Distribution of Recycled Paper-are planned for the occasion.<br /><br />For walkathon students carrying awareness messages, will be taking out an awareness rally from their college to Gokulam, V V Puram Police Station Junction, Mathrumandali Circle and K D Road before culminating at the launch point. <br /><br />The Department of Horticulture has obliged to give types of plants for the respective exhibition.<br /><br />Plants on display<br /></p>.<p>About 70 species of plants will be put on display, a first of its kind programme. The exhibition is open to general public too. Bags made using re-cycled papers will be distributed. Most importantly, ‘photo hunt’ has been organised to encourage budding photographers. <br /><br />The contest is open to all- the entry fee is ` 70, only digital and lens cameras are allowed, and the time of reporting is 10 am. A brief introduction on the topic that will be given on the day, will start from 10.45 am. The duration of the contest is from 11 am to 2 pm.
