"A reward of Rs 50 thousand has been declared on Manvir Singh Tevatia, while Rs 15 thousand for one Premveer and Neeraj Malik and Rs 10 thousands each on Gaje Singh, Kiranpal and Manoj", Cabinet Secretary Shashank Shekhar Singh told reporters here.

"The incident took place due to political ambitions of some persons. I will not like to elaborate", Singh said.

Claiming that the situation in Gautam Buddha Nagar was normal, Singh said the clash there yesterday and another incident in Agra today had nothing to do with land acquisition or payement of compensation and the process for the same were completed yesterday only.

Reading out Chief Minister Mayawati's statement, Singh said she had criticised all opposition parties for raking up the issue without verifying facts.

"The opposition parties should act maturely and should take all information before issuing statements against the government so that people did not react to their propaganda. This might create law and order problem", the CM's statement said.

He said there was no incident in Tappal (Aligarh) and in Mathura and Agra there were minor incidents but due to others reasons and not due to land acquisition.

"The acquisition of land in Bhatta Parsaul village was done with mutual consent and the process for the same was completed in 2010 itself and villagers were paid compensation Rs 120 crores and Rs 180 crores respectively", he claimed. He said that till now 22 persons have been arrested in the connection with the clash in GB Nagar.

Asked about the reasons for the agitation going on in Bhatta Parsaul, Singh said it was for demanding development of the village and transport, sewer and other facilities.

About the toll in yesterday's incident, Singh said that only four persons have died so far and 30 policemen were undergoing treatment at various hosptials besides others.
