Role of women in micro finance sector lauded

He was speaking at the training programme on the financial management organised for volunteers of ‘Ujjivan’ non governmental organisation at Jagmohan palace in Mysore on Wednesday.

The economic activities and standard of life of women had increased a lot after several micro financing institutions distributed loans to women at lowest interest rate, he said.

He lauded the services of Ujjivan organisation in social and economic development of the society. ‘Ujjivan’ is one of the non-governmental organisation involved in the promotion of micro -finance activities. The organisation is spread across the country through its 362 branches with 11 lakh registered members, he added.
