Governor wants to function from Vidhana Soudha, charges CM

"The Governor has conspired with Congress and JDS to rule from Vidhana Soudha (the state secretariat). The Governor should be immediately recalled or he should quit on his own" he told reporters on the sidelines of a function here.

Yeddyurappa accused the Governor of having converted Raj Bhavan into "a hub of political activities" to topple the elected government, as he slammed Bhardwaj's action in recommending dismissal of his government.

The Governor had been criticising the government in public and private functions in the last three years instead of guiding it as a constitutional head, he said.

President Pratibha Patil should immediately recall Bhardwaj and the Centre should recommend it, Yeddyurappa, whose party had submitted a memorandum on the issue to her early this week, said.

Speaking to reporters after attending the State unit BJP office-bearers meeting convened to chalk out agitation programmes against the Governor, he ruled out Assembly Speaker K G Bopaiah resigning over the Supreme Court remarks on disqualification of sixteen MLAs.

"The Speaker has done a good job. He will continue for another two years. He will be the Speaker for another term when BJP is re-elected to power after the next assembly election", Yeddyurappa said.
