BJP opposes Ranganath Mishra report

Addressing a press conference, he said the other backward classes and scheduled caste would get a raw deal as the Mishra Commission recommended cut in reservation for the OBCs and the SCs.

Currently, the OBCs enjoy 27 per cent reservation of which  minorities (Christians and Muslims) get 8.4 per cent share and OBCs enjoy 18.6 per cent.

However, the Mishra committee suggested  for 15 per cent reservation for the minorities, despite the fact that size of minority population is far less than that of the OBCs.

“It is only a vote bank politics of  Congress party to woo the minorities. The BJP won’t allow the snatching the rights of the OBCs and awarding it to the minorities.

“The party would fight against the reservation for the Christians and the Muslims converted from the scheduled castes,” state SC Yuva morcha president.

The party has organised a protest demonstration condemning the Centre’s move to implement the Ranganath Mishra report.

The party activists and leaders would stage dharna near the Gandhi Square at 10.30 am and would submit a memorandum to the Deputy Commissioner.
