The event would be organised by the Gem and Jewellery Export Promotion Council (GJEPC).

"It's not only an honour but a privilege to be the face of this magnanimous event. This aims at promoting Indian talent on a global platform. I'm glad that GJEPC has taken the initiative of placing India on the global arena of designer jewellery. I'm looking forward to seeing some exemplary talent at the IIJW this year," Sonam told reporters here.
The first edition of the IIJW did not have any brand ambassador, but this year Sonam will open the event by walking the ramp on the inaugural day.

"IIJW positions India as one of the finest creators of high quality jewellery and is a showcase of India's prowess in jewellery, be it design, innovation, craftsmanship or quality. We are pleased to announce Sonam Kapoor as our brand ambassador who exudes the values of glamour, luxury yet rooted in Indian culture and offers perfect brand fit," said GJEPC chairman Rajiv Jain.

The event will be held at the Grand Hyatt and will be spread across five days. The first four days will showcase collections from designers and design houses and the fifth day will culminate into a grand finale, showcasing the best of all participants of the week. The key participants of this year's edition include Gitanjali Gems, Anmol Jewellers, Amrapali Jewels Pvt. Ltd, Tanishq, Rosily Paul creations, Divya Ahuja and Kashi Jewellers among others.
