Daylight theft in jewellery showroom

Customers hypnotise owner, escape with valuables worth Rs four lakh

According to police, two youths posing as customers entered Pooja Jewellers in Bommanahalli at 12.45 pm and asked shop owner Pukaram to display some gold articles.
After selecting an ornament worth Rs 4,000, the duo paid Rs 2,000 and left, telling Pukaram they would collect the jewellery after paying the balance amount.

They returned with the money and requested Pukaram to display some gold chains and he obliged.

Then, Pukaram told the police, the two youths dragged him into a conversation, “hypnotised” him and fled with jewellery worth Rs four lakh that were kept on the table. A bemused Pukaram said it took some time for him to realise he had been taken for a ride.

Police said the entire action had been captured on CCTV cameras and that it was clearly not a case of attention diversion. The jeweller was hypnotised, they added.

Sex racket busted

Koramangala police busted a high-proifle sex racket and arrested four women recently. The suspects are Pooja (25) from Bangalore, Sanjana (22) from West Bengal, Geethanjali (34) and Preethi (25) both from Darjeeling East.

On a tip-off, police arrested them near Sony World Junction in Koramangala and seized a cellphone and cash.

Fake gadgets

Ulsoor police arrested two men and recovered fake DVDs and electronic gadgets worth Rs 2.74 lakh.

The suspects are Kamalesh Kumar (24) and Sujith Kumar (19), both residents of Indiranagar.  The police raided a house on first cross, first phase, Hale Binnamangala area in Indiranagar, and recovered some gadgets.
