Addressing the media, Puttaswamy said that on March 29, 2006, when Kumaraswamy was chief minister and his brother H D Revanna held the power portfolio, Hescom and Bescom had signed MoUs with BSK Trading Company and Shakambari Enterprises, owned by members of the Gowda family for a windmill project in Gadag.

While BSK Trading Company is owned by Kumaraswamy’s elder brother H D Balakrishna Gowda, Shakambari Enterprises is owned by Balakrishna’s wife H Kavitha.

According to Puttaswamy, the capacity of the windmill power project was enhanced from 75 MW to 100 MW, and a unit of about five MW of the project (bagged by Suzlon Company), was given to BSK and Shakambari Enterprises for combined production of energy.

Puttaswamy reiterated that Kumaraswamy had denotified 48.3 acres of land in Arkavathy Layout, apart from granting 22 mining leases in Bellary, just before he lost power.
