Major theft case: Police nab one more accused

Four out of the nine accused involved in the case have already been arrested by Sakleshpur police in connection with a robbery incident. Four more persons are yet to be nabbed, said Sub-Inspector Pramod Kumar P.

As per a complaint filed by HML Company, a sum of Rs 16.44 lakh had been stolen from their yard on May 23. A team of nine members had involved in the incident. Of them, Sakleshpur police arrested Bhaskar (22), Manja alias Manja Naika (25), Kumar alias Ganganna (27) and Ravi alias Ravi Naik (21) in connection with a robbery case in the house of one Appuswamy Gowda of Kyanahalli on June 4. Presently, they are in Hassan jail.

The arrested had stated that they stole only Rs 3.5 lakh from the company. Sakleshpur police had seized Rs 1 lakh from them in this connection, Pramod Kumar said.

Four more accused Babu, Nijju, Basavaraj and Prabhu Kumar are being traced by the police.

Asgar was arrested when he came to meet his wife at her residence at Porkodi near Jokatte, he added. Probationary SI Ravi K B, other personnel Damodar, Krishna, Rajesh Alva, Isaac, Kanthappa and Umesh were in the police team.
