Last Updated 13 November 2011, 16:56 IST

Bhardwaj had recently said the Government had not consulted the High Court chief justice before recommending the name of Bannurmath. He had also said the appointment of the Lokayukta should be a participatory process, which the Government had ignored.

Reacting to his remarks, Chief Minister D V Sadananda Gowda said here on Sunday that the Government had not deviated from the precedent while sending the recommendation to Raj Bhavan.  He said the Government would recommend an alternative name only after the Governor replies to his letter.

Gowda said preparations were in full swing for the first ever Global Agri-Investors meet slated for December 1 and 2, aimed at attracting an investment of Rs 55,000 crore. The Government will hold a roadshow in Mumbai on November 16, he said.
