<p>Addressing a news conference here on Thursday, Jeppinamogaru Corporator J Nagendra Kumar said that the pipe is adding to the woes of the fishermen who find it difficult to travel as the pipe blocks their way in river. <br /><br />No one knows much information about the pipe and even under RTI, the City Corporation has failed to give a response.<br /><br />Though orders have been passed by the District-in-Charge Minister and the District Administration and City Corporation to stop the pipe attaching work, the work is still continuing day and night.<br /><br />According to some sources, it is found that the work is being implemented by an Ahemdabad based company for MSEZ. <br /><br />There is a fear that waste and hazardous materials are released into the sea causing damage to the sea life. <br /><br />In case the district administration does not stop this menace, then a massive protest will be held, warned the residents of Jeppinamogaru.<br /><br />Kumar also alleged that the sand miners have leased the artificial sand bed created by them (sand minors) to MSEZ pipeline laying firm for a sum of Rs 50,000.<br /></p>
