The Palike has put up at least 10 CCTV cameras on its premises, but none of the cameras could provide any leads. The five-hour-long footage retrieved from the CCTV cameras has failed to give any clues to the investigating team. The footage reportedly shows people standing and loitering here and there, but it does not show any person entering the Annexe Building.

It may be recalled that besides the police team, a special team of the Palike led by Special Commissioner K R Niranjan is investigating the case. Both the teams have pinned their hopes on the forensic report and the electrical inspectorate report, which is expected in the next two to three days.

The BMTF authorities have accused the BBMP of not making enough arrangements to deal with fire emergencies. The BMTF Inspector General of Police, R P Sharma, has trained his guns on the Palike authorities, saying they could not include fire fighting equipment in a budget of Rs 9,000 crore.

The Congress will stage a demonstration in front of the BBMP head office demanding a Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) inquiry into the irregularities that took place in the Palike in the last three to four years.
