Don't worry, CM tells farmers

Addressing a gathering at Janwada in Bidar taluk, Yeddyurappa said, “Farmers and agricultural labourers should not lose their courage and need not migrate to neighbouring states in search of job and food. The government will stand by them at this crucial hour and extend the required help.”

Pro farmers

Appealing farmers to not take extreme steps fearing the severe impact of drought and the mounting debt, he said the government was with the farmers. Every measure would be taken to effectively face the drought situation in the State, he added.

He said that he was aware of the withering kharif crops in the district due to the failure of the monsoon. A meeting of elected representatives from the district and officials would be held soon and an appropriate decision would be taken to rescue farmers in distress.
