Former chief minister B S Yeddyurappa said here on Sunday that he would give “good news” after returning from his tour of Kashi.

Speaking to reporters, Yeddyurappa - who was here to attend a convention of Banjaras - said he was visiting Kashi for the Shivaratri festival.

Responding to former chief minister Kumaraswamy’s criticism of his tour of Kashi, Yeddyurappa said: “The father-son duo (Deve Gowda and Kumaraswamy) should introspect, instead of criticising others.”

He said he was not able to attend the Panchamasali convention at Gokak on Saturday because of pre-scheduled engagements. Otherwise, he would have attended the programme, he said.

After attending the Banjara convention, Yeddyurappa - along with Energy Minister Shobha Karandlaje and MP Suresh Angadi - flew to Kashi in a special flight. Responding to Yeddyurappa’s statement, Kumaraswamy said: “It is okay if he gives good news after he returns. But, let him not give shocking news.”

He was speaking to reporters after the anniversary function of the Bunts’ Association in the City on Sunday.
