Video shoot irks DYSS

Last Updated 28 February 2012, 18:10 IST

The video shoot of Karnataka Lions, the Bangalore franchise of the World Series Hockey, ran into trouble after the Department of Youth Services and Sports (DYSS) objected to the presence of heavy equipment on the pitch at the KSHA Stadium.

The organisers had brought in a crane to film a promotional video with team ambassador and Bollywood star Suniel Shetty and the playing members on Tuesday evening when DYSS officials objected, saying the crane will not be allowed onto the pitch as it could damage it.

“The organisers had sought permission only for practice but didn’t inform us about the shooting,” said a DYSS official. “Barring the players and team officials, we don’t allow anybody else to enter the pitch.

“We have no qualms with them doing a film shoot but they should have informed us.”
However, things were sorted out amicably later, and the shooting went on without problems.
