Airport Metro offers cloakroom

The high-speed Airport Metro Express Line has introduced a cloakroom service at its New Delhi station.

“Passengers, who travel long distances, usually carry a number of bags. Now at a very nominal cost, they can get cloakroom facility at New Delhi station where they can keep their bags and enjoy a hassle-free time before they start for their destinations,” said a spokesperson of Reliance Infrastructure, the concessionaire of Airport Metro.  Officials said the service would help many passengers who come from Punjab, UP, Haryana and Rajasthan by train and take a flight at a very late hour.
“A cloakroom service at the Airport Metro, connecting both the railway station and the airport, will be highly convenient for the flyers,” the official added.
Reliance Metro is also coming up with retail outlets, including food and beverages, apparel stores, ATM counters, pharmacy and other conveniences for travellers. Passengers, after depositing their luggage in the cloakroom, can enjoy the retail experience, the official said.
The 23-km Airport Metro, with six stations, connects New Delhi Railway station with the Indira Gandhi International (IGI) Airport in 18 minutes. It has a ridership of 20,000 commuters a day.
