JOIN USFord India has launched a new version of its mid-sized sedan Fiesta priced between Rs 7.23 lakh and Rs 8.99 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi), cheaper by up to Rs 1.45 lakh from the earlier range.
The new version — Fiesta Ambiente — is available in both petrol and diesel options powered by 1,500 cc engines and will replace the earlier global Fiesta that was launched in July 2011. The earlier version was priced at Rs 8.25 lakh and Rs 10.44 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi) for the petrol and diesel options, respectively.
A company official clarified, “The Fiesta Ambiente is being launched in place of the previous entry level version in petrol, Fiesta Style, which was priced at Rs 8.25 lakh (ex- showroom Delhi).”
The Fiesta Ambiente will compete with the likes of Honda City and Hyundai Verna which are priced between Rs 6.99 lakh and Rs 10.30 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi), respectively. Last month, Ford had launched the automatic transmission variant in petrol of the Fiesta, priced between Rs 8.99 lakh and Rs 9.70 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi).
