JOIN USTwo unidentified persons assaulted Karnataka Beary Sahitya Academy Chairperson Rahim Uchil with lethal weapons at his office in Attavar, on Thursday.
A severely injured Rahim was rushed to a private hospital for treatment. Sources said that four people were involved in the attack. While two persons attacked Rahim, two others waited outside keeping an eye on passersby.
An old bike with its number plate covered in mud was parked outside the building when the incident occurred. After attacking Rahim, the miscreants broke the window panes of the office and also damaged a shop nearby. Rahim had assumed chargeon February 6.
Incidentally, Rahim has acted in several beary language movies and has also played a small role in the film ‘Byari’, which won the National Award for the Best Film this year.
