Parents say no to two-wheeler; girl kills self

Upset over parents not acceding to her demand for a moped, a teenage girl has committed suicide allegedly by hanging at her house here on Thursday.

The deceased has been identified as M S Vinuta (18) daughter of M Y Shivprasad, a BEML employee. A resident of Shankar Mutt road in the city, Vinuta was angry with her parents who were reluctant to buy her a two-wheeler.

She had passed first PUC and was asking for the vehicle to attend tuitions for second PUC. There was also disagreement among the parents and their daughter over going to tuitions.

While her mother Mamatha was insisting on taking tuitions for two subjects, Vinuta wanted to go to only one. On Thursday early morning, the parents and daughter fought over the same issue. Vinuta hung self to the ceiling fan in her from around 8.30 am.

K R Police have registered a case.

Missing man found dead

A railway employee who had gone missing allegedly committed suicide by jumping under a moving train. The deceased has been identified as Shankarlinge Gowda (56) son of Madaiah, of Vidyaranyapuram.

He was working as a technician at railway workshop in Ashokapuram. He had not returned home from work on May 19. His son had lodged a missing complaint in this regard at Ashokapuram police station.

The police who had recovered a body near Metagalli summoned the relatives of Shankarlinge Gowda to identify the body. It turned out to be that of Gowda only.

He was in debt and had left behind a suicide note claiming he himself is responsible for his death.

Railway police have registered a case.
