Four murders in Delhi in 12 hours

An accountant and a 25-year-old were among the other victims and in three cases, the attackers were unknown. The four cases were reported between 9:45 pm yesterday and 9:30 am today.

Dalbir Singh Yadav, a property dealer, was stabbed to death by some unidentified men who barged into his residence in south Delhi's Khanpur at around 9:30 am, a senior police official said.

Yadav was severely injured and rushed to a hospital where he succumbed to injuries during treatment.Police suspect that the murder was due to business rivalry and investigators are looking into his business dealings.

An accountant was shot dead by three motorcycle-borne youths today in south Delhi's Bhogal area at around 9 am.

The snatchers opened fire at him when he resisted their robbery attempt. They fled with his bag, the official said adding a case has been registered.

The third case of murder was reported from north-west Delhi where a trader K L Sachdeva was robbed and shot dead by six men at around 9:45 pm when he was returning to his Shalimar Bagh residence. Sachdeva was coming back in his car from Lajpat Rai Market in Chandni Chowk when a car and motorcycle intercepted him.

When the driver stopped the car, the official said, the robbers opened fire at the trader, killing him on the spot and injuring the driver.

Robbery seems to be the motive behind the murder as the robbers escaped with two bags containing money, the official said adding the exact amount of money robbed is yet to be ascertained.

In another case of murder, a 25-year-old man was shot dead by five persons in east Delhi's Gandhi Nagar at around 11:30 pm after an argument over money lending. The deceased has been identified as Bhupendra Jain.

Jain had borrowed some money from the attackers, who asked him to return the amount. An argument ensued and one of them opened fire at Jain, who died on the spot. The official said they have identified the attackers.
