Sportive response to 'Olympic Day Run'

The ‘Olympic Day Run’ organised in the district recently, received an overwhelming response from students and sports representatives.

The meet was hosted near Bhoganandeeshwara Temple in Nandi gram and was given a green signal by Union Minister for Corporate Affairs Veerappa Moily.

The particpating students came from different schools and colleges in Chikkaballapur, Bagepalli, Gudibande, Chintamani, Gauribidnur and Shidlaghatta.All were awarded certificates and t-shirts.

“It is a privilege for the district to host the sports meet and will encourage young sports enthusiasts in Chikkaballapur,” Moily said.

The representatives from different departments also took part in the sports meet, including the Deputy Commissioner and vice president of Zilla Panchayat.Moily who also attended the sports meet was seen wearing an event t-shirt.

However, several participants complained that they had not received their shirts and certificates.

Deputy Commissioner Dr N Manjula, Legislator K P Bachegowda, ZP president M V Krishnappa, vice president B Savithramma were also present during the event.
