B'lore manager's wife, son done to death

The deceased, 39-year-old Ananthalakshmi, a music teacher and wife of 42-year-old Ramasubramani, who works as a manager in a private company in Bangalore, and their son Suraj (13), were found in a pool of blood with multiple injuries on their bodies.

Ananthalakshmi’s 19-year-old daughter, Shobana, an engineering student here, returned home from college on Thursday evening only to find the door locked. Presuming that her mother and brother must have gone out, she decided to spend some time at her friend’s place, police said. However, Shobana’s frantic attempts in between to reach her mother on the cell phone proved futile as it constantly played back the message ‘switched off’. Their house was still locked when she returned home around 9 pm. Fearing something amiss, she then got in touch with the police through a family friend.

The police broke open the lock and found a heavily blood-stained Ananthalakshmi and Suraj lying dead in different rooms. Ramasubramani was immediately informed about the incident and he rushed from Bangalore to Chennai.

City police commissioner Rajendran and other top cops rushed to the spot. Two teams have been formed to nab the culprits. Till Friday evening, no arrests had been made.
