After making popular films with some of the top actors in the industry, Karan Johar now wants to step in front of the camera following in the footsteps of Farhan Akhtar and Farah Khan.

While Farhan has struck a balance between his acting and directing career, Farah did just one film 'Shirin Farhad'.

Johar, who did a small appearance years ago in 'Dilwale Duhania Le Jayenge', says he wants to try his hand at acting now and is waiting for some director to approach him.

"I am open to acting offers. So far no one has approached me for films. My friends Farah Khan and Farhan Akhtar have tried their hands at acting. Now I am ready too for a full-fledged role in a film and I want some other filmmaker to direct me," said Johar, who was in the NCR today to promote his upcoming directorial 'Student of the Year'.

The film, with a young star cast including Alia Bhatt, Varun Dhawan and Siddharth Malhotra, made 40-year-old Johar feel much younger on the sets.

"I have not grown with the film, I have rather become younger. The average age on the set was 20. From actors to the production unit, everyone was young and bubbling with energy. So I can say that the film has had a Benjamin Button impact on me. It has made me younger," said Johar.

This was the first time Johar has worked with newcomers and it took him some time to realise that there were no big stars on the set.

"When we started shooting I had difficulty in realising that there were no stars on the set. I felt that I did not have the right attitude for newcomers. I changed my approach."
