Stories through frames

Chakachak, a film written and directed by Sai Paranjpye, will be screened on November 17, 4 pm at Dance Studio, Alliance Française. It is a children’s film championing the cause of a healthy, clean and beautiful civic environment.

A diverse group of children is fed up with the dirty streets, overflowing garbage dumps, eternally clogged drains, and all the pervasive stench that has become the reality surrounding them.

They believe that they certainly deserve a cleaner, healthier, and more pleasant neighbourhood.

To add to this misery, the army of anti- social adults is
on the rise.

Spitters, litterbugs, noise makers and vandals – not to mention the evil Gundappan and his rascally cronies Kawwa, Tawaa and Chiwwa, further menace the already shaky paradise.
Whether there is any hope left forms the crux of the story.

Qu’un seul tienne et les autres suivront, yet another film, will be screened at
Alliance Francaise on November 21, 6.30 pm.

It is directed by Léa Fehner. Stéphane, Zohra and Laure crisscross the streets of one and the same city but don’t know each other.

Stéphane, 30-years-old and lost in a world over which he has not control, is offered a deal which might change his life. But that comes at a cost.
