Chief Minister B S Yeddyurappa’s padayatra to collect funds for the flood victims received good response, on Wednesday. But, Bangaloreans had to bear the brunt when traffic came to a halt on some of the busiest roads in the City.

“Park your vehicle, the traffic isn’t going to move an inch for the next one hour,” said an autorickshaw driver to a two-wheeler rider at Mysore Bank Circle. For nearly two hours before the chief minister entered the narrow alleys of Avenue Road and after his exit from Balepet, traffic was halted from Mysore Bank Circle to Hudson Circle and up to SJP Road leading to City Market.

However, two-wheeler riders rode on footpath. The police opened one-ways upto a short distance for vehicles to take a u-turn at the Mysore Bank Circle leading to Palace Road.
Traffic officials stated that the yatra went on smoothly and it was only towards the end that the traffic halted, said DCP (Traffic) Panduranga H Rane.
