Cops arrest prime accused in Mysore; sent to JC

Police have arrested teacher Rajappa of Santhepete Government High School who is accused of sexually harassing a sixth standard student and education officer Hafiz-ur-Rahman, who had allegedly tried to hush up the incident, in Hassan on Tuesday.

Rajappa was accused of taking a girl student to a classroom and outraging her modesty.  
The girl’s parents alleged that Hafiz-Ur-Rahman, an officer with the education department who had to report the incident to the higher ups after the necessary probe had erred in his duty. He in fact was trying to downplay the incident.

However, the police  traced  Rajappa in Mysore who was absconding since the incident. The two were produced before the court on Tuesday and have been sent to  judicial custody.
