40 NCC cadets donate blood

A total of 607 cadets of 14 NCC directorates in different states are taking part in the national integration camp, which will continue till October 16.

The cadets were imparted training in Home Guards and using weapons on Monday apart from awareness on national integration.

Entertainment programmes reflecting the theme were also presented by the cadets. The cadets also took part in shramadan aimed at cleaning up the surrounding areas. The camp assistant officer Babu Rajan told Deccan Herald that the cadets will take out a march in Madikeri on October 14 to create Aids awareness among the public.

The camp comprises 350 cadets from various districts of Karnataka besides 85 from Kodagu. They are also being trained in the language, culture, and others aspects of the state. They are also taking part in demonstrations on the steps to be taken during fire hazards, quiz and debates.

Col G R R Reddy is the Camp Commandant while Madikeri Battalion Lieutenant Col H C Singh is the Group Commander.
