Fresh complaint filed against Jayachandra

A fresh complaint was filed in the Special Lokayukta Court on Thursday against Sira Congress MLA T B Jayachandra.

In his complaint, T Raghu, former councillor of Sira Municipality, has alleged that Jayachandra, using his influence and office, got allotted a parking plot at Yeshwantpur transport terminal in his wife Nirmala’s name.

He also submitted that D Devaraj Urs Truck Terminal Limited (DDULTL) in Yeshwantpur was constructed by the State government so that heavy lorries and transport trucks could park as they were prohibited from entering the City.

The terminal had 504 plots and the State determined the places at which motor vehicles could be parked either indefinitely or for specified period of time. These plots were allotted to various individuals and one such allottee was Nirmala, though she did not own any transport vehicle. Further, the complainant said the application was made mentioning her father’s name, rather than that of her husband.

“This clearly shows the dishonest designs of both the accused. The said allotment was done on August 30, 1994, and on December 17, 1994 the possession certificate was issued. Since then she owns and enjoys the property,” Raghu said.

Raghu further submitted that Jayachandra, in all his statements, before the Election Commission and the Lokayukta never mentioned the property. “Needless to say, the rents arising out of this property 1994 onwards are not mentioned,” he submitted. The matter has been adjourned for further hearing.
