A 32-year-old man was found hanging from the ceiling fan at his house in Gurulingappa Layout, Panchamasheela Nagar in Mudalapalya here on Sunday.

Police suspect that bankruptcy drove Parashivamurthy C (32), a former bill collector with Commercial Taxes Department, to suicide. They found a death note, reportedly written by the deceased, saying he was killing himself as he was unable repay loans. He had quit the job six months ago and was in bad health, police added. The deceased was alone as his wife, Vijaylakshmi, and children Chaitra, 6, and Chandana, 3 had gone to a temple in Tumkur. He refused to accompany his family, saying he was busy.

Parashivamurthy’s friend, Raju, kept calling him up around 6.30 pm, but there was no response.

Then he went to his house and knocked the door but there was no response either. The door was not opened. When Raju opened it, he found his friend dead, explained police.
