Last Updated 09 July 2013, 19:34 IST

The Karnataka Examination Authority (KEA) will conduct the much-awaited seat allotment for professional courses in various colleges across the state on Wednesday. This will be the first round of allotment of government seats based on  Common Entrance Test 2013.

The examination authority on Sunday made dummy allotments to give aspirants an idea of the seat allotment process. Students had entered seat options according to their preferred courses and colleges, based on which the dummy allotments were made.

They were given a day’s time on Monday to revise their choices made through the online option entry, in case they were unhappy with the outcome during the dummy allotment. The candidates uploaded their revised choices on Tuesday.

The real allotment is expected to be put up on the KEA’s official website before noon. Students can report to the colleges where they have been allotted seats after paying the fees online. A detailed guideline on e-payment is available on the KEA website. Later, the candidates will have to report to the KEA about their enrolment.

Candidates can also participate in the second round of counselling. However, they will have to pay the prescribed fees within the stipulated time.

In case the students get a better seat in the next round, the first allotment will be cancelled. In case they are not satisfied with the second round of counselling, they can retain the seat allotted during the first round.

If the candidates fail to pay the fees, the allotment will be cancelled. The seat will be included in the seat matrix for the second round, said KEA officials. The second round of counselling is expected to be held on July 23.

For the first time this year, the candidates will be able to pay the fees online.  The payment will have to be made in favour of the KEA’s account in Indian Bank, Malleswaram. The account details are available on the KEA website.
