The High Court on Friday stayed the Muzrai department’s order to take over the temple administration board of Bhagandeshwara temple at Bhagamandala in Kodagu district and historical Someshwara temple at Ulsoor in Bangalore.

Hearing a petition by the administrative boards of the two temples, Justice Hulvadi G Ramesh stayed the government order for eight weeks.

The petitioners, challenging the government order to take over  ‘A’ grade temples, had contended that the decision was in violation of Section 28 of Karnataka Religious and Endowment Act.

Bail plea dismissed

The High Court on Friday rejected the bail plea of Harsha, one of the accused in murder of JD(S) leader BEML Krishnappa.

Harsha had challenged the trial court order cancelling his bail plea and  moved the High Court.

Stating that since the investigation is over and he would co-operate with the police in probe, Harsha had sought bail. However, Justice N Ananda dismissed the petition.
