Burglary at Hennur flat

Cash, jewellery and electronic goods worth Rs seven lakh were burgled from a flat in an apartment complex in Hennur on Sunday.

According to the complaint lodged by K Narasimha Nayak, the resident of the flat, he was away visiting his relatives when the burglary took place.

Police said the thieves gained entry into the house by breaking the locks on the front door. A case has been registered.

Chain snatched

A housewife who was drawing a rangoli in front of her house became the unwitting victim of  chain-snatching in HSR Layout on Monday morning.

Kamalamma, 50, complained to police that a miscreant  snatched her 30-gram gold chain before fleeing the scene.

Madiwala police have registered a case.

Pirated DVDs seized

The Central Crime Branch of the City police have seized pirated DVDs worth Rs 15 lakh by arresting three men.

The arrested have identified as Manjunath 26, a resident of BHM Road, Sonish, 24, of Kushal Nagar and Raju, 20, of Kollegal.

Acting on a tip-off, the police raided a house owned by Neelakantha Reddy on 4th Cross, near Tulasi Theatre in Marathalli, where the suspects had stocked pirated DVDs of Kannada, Hindi, English, Tamil, Telugu movies released recently, police said. “Pirated pornographic films were also found in the house,” police added.
